Q1-What will counting up to twelve and keeping still help to achieve?
Ans. We should stop all our activities for a few moments and do quiet introspection . It will bring us peace and unity.
It will help us to restart in a fresh and better way. We will feel ourselves one and united with all others .
Q2-Do you think that the poet advocates total inactivity and death?
Ans. The poet says that the stillness and quietness should not be confused with inactivity. Inactivity is like a death and sadness but he is talking about life and happiness. This stillness and quietness will make us more refined. So he doesn't advocate inactivity and death.
Q3-What is the 'sadness' that the poet refers to in this poem?
Ans. It is the sadness of never understanding ourselves and a constant fear of death . Humanity is in a shadow of extreme grief due to this sadness, but the poet says that the huge silence of introspection will dispel this sadness.
